"Huangyan New Year Shopping Week" Kicks Off, Offering Traditional Flavors, Customs, and Goods
On the morning of January 17, the "Huangyan New Year Shopping Week" officially began at Tianhui Plaza in Huangyan. Centered around the themes of "seeking New Year flavors, rediscovering traditions, and shopping for festive goods," the event brings together a rich array of products and activities for the community.

At the stall run by Zhejiang Chengyuan Food Co., Ltd., staff were busy dividing tasks—carrying pork, cutting it into portions, weighing, and packaging—all in a lively and efficient rhythm. A steady stream of customers came to purchase pork, with one local shopper, Ms. Wang, noting, "The prices are very reasonable. I’m buying this for our New Year’s thanksgiving ceremony."
According to the stall manager, the price per jin (500 grams) for each cut of pork was 3–4 RMB cheaper than usual market rates. In less than two hours after opening, six whole pigs had already been sold out. "We prepared 12 pigs in total, all freshly slaughtered and delivered today. We’ll restock immediately if sales continue at this pace," the manager added.
The Huangyan New Year Shopping Week features four main sections: Famous & Quality Products, Agricultural and Sideline Products, Local Snacks, and Traditional Custom Activities. Over 100 merchants have gathered at the event, including Huangyan Outlets, Shenbaoshan Traditional Medicine Pharmacy, Ningxi Fermented Rice Spirits, and Ningxi Local Specialties, offering residents a wide selection of high-quality and affordable New Year goods.

In addition to shopping, visitors can take part in traditional customs such as writing Spring Festival couplets, making rice cakes, and making puffed rice snacks. The event will run until January 23.
