 Xin Rong Ji College is Here!

On the afternoon of April 23, the Taizhou Cuisine Food Industry Development Conference was successfully convened, during which the "Xin Rong Ji College" was officially inaugurated. Chen Changsun, Secretary of the Party Committee of our college, delivered a speech on advancing the quality enhancement project for "Taizhou Chefs" training. President Zhang Wei joined city leaders and representatives from the Xin Rong Ji Catering Group in unveiling the plaque for the college.

Newly established, what exactly is Xin Rong Ji College, and what significance does it hold for advancing Taizhou's vision as a "World Gourmet Capital"?

Operated as a secondary college under our institution, Xin Rong Ji College adopts its name from the renowned restaurant group. Mr. Zhang Yong, Chairman of Xin Rong Ji Catering Group, serves as its Honorary Dean. The college will primarily offer three-year specialized higher education programs.  It plans to launch four academic programs in phases: In 2023, it will enroll 80 students across two initial majors: Culinary Arts and Nutrition, Chinese and Western Pastry Arts.

By 2024, two additional majors will be added: Western Culinary Arts , Hotel Management and Digital Operation.The college aims to reach a total enrollment of 720 students by 2026.

Xin Rong Ji College: Cultivating Talent, Advancing Taizhou Cuisine. Xin Rong Ji College will dedicate itself to education and training, establishing "Three Centers and One Base":Taizhou Chef Training & Education CenterTaizhou Cuisine R&D CenterTaizhou Culinary Culture Research & Promotion Center and Taizhou Culinary Talent Development Base.These initiatives will elevate the local culinary workforce, drive the healthy development of Taizhou cuisine, preserve regional food culture, and accelerate the city's bid to become a World Gourmet Capital. Achieving this status depends entirely on talent. Strengthening talent cultivation remains our ultimate goal—positioning Xin Rong Ji College as the premier academy shaping future masters of Taizhou cuisine.The College will leverage a collaborative industry-academia model, appointing Xin Rong Ji chefs as instructors and enhancing dual-education programs. We will accelerate the development of specialized Taizhou cooking training modules, advance curriculum reform, and design premium courses—integrating craftsmanship throughout the learning process. Learning through competition will be encouraged, with students participating in national and international culinary contests.In recent years, Taizhou Cuisine has gained prominence for its diverse, home-style techniques. The College will balance tradition with innovation, advancing research in culinary techniques, nutrition, and food science through its Taizhou Cuisine R&D Center.We will systematically document classic Taizhou dishes, soups, pastries, and snacks. Responding to market trends, we will innovate recipes, seasonings, and techniques—continuously exploring, promoting, and refining Taizhou's unique foods and quality ingredients.

Promoting the "Fresh in Taizhou" Identity.The college will research and refine Taizhou's culinary culture, organizing culinary exchange activities and actively participating in national initiatives such as the ’Overseas Catering Prosperity Plan’. Through project collaboration, book publications, and personnel exchanges, we will preserve and promote Taizhou cuisine and its culinary heritage, enhancing its international profile and establishing the college as the Center for Taizhou Culinary Culture Research and Promotion. Strengthening Foundational Capacity. Xin Rong Ji College is accelerating the improvement of its teaching spaces, facilities, and faculty to enhance its ability to cultivate skilled talents in Taizhou cuisine.Expanding Social Training Services.We provide Taizhou culinary skills training and vocational education for industry professionals and enthusiasts. Initiatives like "Master Chefs in the Countryside" and rural training programs will be organized, supported by the development of a remote vocational training platform. These efforts aim to activate new drivers for common prosperity in rural areas through culinary skills training.Our goal is to develop Xin Rong Ji College into a provincial and eventually national-level base for culinary talent development.Deepening Industry-Academia Integration.The Xin Rong Ji restaurant group will provide all its outlets as student internship venues, with comprehensive cooperation and management agreements already signed between both parties.The mission to cultivate "Taizhou Chefs" is a significant undertaking—are you ready for the premier academy shaping Taizhou's future master chefs?
