Women's Initiative: Luqiao Delicacies Shared Prosperity Workshop,Empowering Women to Achieve Entrepreneurship and Employment Close to Home through the Taste of "Mom's Cooking"

From spring plowing and summer weeding to autumn harvest and winter storage, our ancestors followed the rhythms of nature and adapted to its changes. They distilled thousands of years of profound culinary culture into four simple words: Eat with the Seasons.



From November 29th to 30th, Xinqiao Town established the "Delicacies Shared Prosperity Workshop" at Ersao Xiangyuan. The town's Women's Federation actively collaborated with the local authorities to identify women in the vicinity of the agritainment site who were available to work at home. They formed a team of female chefs and arranged for the district's Catering Association to provide them with training on cooking seasonal dishes based on the 24 solar terms.

Women Empowering Shared Prosperity



This training on 24 solar term cuisine was open to all women in the town. The curriculum, grounded in food development theory and emphasizing practical skills, was taught by professional instructors.



Focusing on traditional specialty dishes for each solar term, the teachers provided detailed introductions and explanations on selecting ingredients, cleaning procedures, and the proper combination of seasonings. They also covered essential techniques such as basic knife skills, dish pairing, seasoning ratios, and heat control. Common cooking methods like steaming, stir-frying, braising, and deep-frying were taught one by one. As the instructors demonstrated, they explained each step. The students listened attentively, diligently took notes on the key cooking techniques, and actively asked questions throughout the process. The entire training session was filled with a strong atmosphere of eager learning. The women participants listened carefully, studied earnestly, and frequently interacted and exchanged ideas, creating a relaxed and enthusiastic training environment.

Women Empowering Shared Prosperity



The plan for the Ersao Xiangyuan Delicacies Shared Prosperity Workshop is to employ these trained chefs on the specific days of the 24 solar terms to prepare the corresponding dishes. At other times, based on customer requests, they will also proactively contact these chefs to cook, providing them with labor fees. This initiative transforms "Mom's Cooking," the most familiar aspect of daily domestic life, into a valuable skill, helping more women achieve shared prosperity.

The Taste of Mom's Cooking



As a next step, the Luqiao District Women's Federation will continue to promote and upgrade the "Mom's Cooking" food brand. Responding to the entrepreneurial and employment needs of women across the district, they will further enhance the practicality and applicability of training programs. By integrating the Women's Federation's "Mom's Cooking" brand with the standardized development of "Women's Shared Prosperity Workshops," they aim to promote cultural heritage through women's prosperity. Through education and training, they seek to empower more female agricultural entrepreneurs and skilled home-style chefs to start businesses and find employment close to home, building a bridge of sisterhood on the path to common prosperity.
