Set to Begin!
The Permanent Delegation of the People's Republic of China to UNESCO, in collaboration with the China Cuisine Association, will host the "Inheriting Intangible Heritage, Celebrating the New Year with Time-Honored Brands—Promoting Cultural Exchange and Mutual Learning, Fostering Win-Win Cooperation" New Year Reception at UNESCO Headquarters on February 10, 2026.
At the invitation of the China Cuisine Association, Lin Meijun, expert advisor of the Taizhou Working Group for the "Creative City of Gastronomy" bid and founder of Lin Jia Yi Restaurant Group, arrived in Paris on February 7 with three seasoned chefs, accompanied by ten crates of authentic Taizhou ingredients. They have immediately embarked on intensive preparations for the event.
It is reported that the dishes to be presented in Paris will showcase the unique flavors of Taizhou’s mountains and seas, along with the craftsmanship of its intangible cultural heritage. The selection includes classic dishes rooted in local culinary culture, such as Taizhou fermented vegetables, smoked East Sea pomfret, and handmade fish cakes. It also features specialties that highlight the fresh essence of the East Sea and the rustic charm of the mountains, such as braised yellow croaker with clay-pot rice and Taizhou dried "Xiaogou" beef. Additionally, sweet and sticky delicacies like honey-glazed Taizhou rice cakes and coffee-brown sugar-glazed tangyuan, as well as deboned poached seafood chicken and crispy yellow croaker, will be served. These offerings aim to introduce the world to the flavors of Taizhou and garner stronger international recognition for its bid to become a UNESCO City of Gastronomy.
