Overseas Communicators Experience Jiaojiang's Skills Competition On Site
On the morning of June 30, two Taizhou overseas communicators stepped into the launch ceremony of the 2025 Jiaojiang District Vocational Skills Competition. They immersed themselves in the "Hundred Counties, Thousand Bowls • Ocean Flavors of Jiaojiang" series of dishes and even learned the art of knife skills from a master in hot food carving. The atmosphere at the scene was exceptionally lively.
At the event, the "Hundred Counties, Thousand Bowls • Ocean Flavors of Jiaojiang" dishes were neatly displayed. Signature dishes such as Steamed Yellow Croaker with Da Hong Pao Tea and Chicken Fat, Lotus Mushroom Soup, and Zhang'an Eel captivated the foreign guests instantly with their appealing colors, aromas, and flavors. The overseas communicators savored the ocean delicacies of Jiaojiang while repeatedly praising them, exclaiming "Delicious!" and "Amazing!"
Robert from the United States developed a special fondness for the stuffed pancake rolls. As he ate, he gave a thumbs-up and said, "This 'Chinese pizza' is very chewy, and the fillings are unique. It's absolutely delicious." Matthew from the United Kingdom eagerly picked up his chopsticks. After tasting various seafood dishes, he couldn't help but marvel at the wide variety of seafood in Jiaojiang and the even greater diversity of cooking methods. He immediately started filming a vlog to recommend the food.
After enjoying the food, the overseas communicators gathered around the workbench of a master specializing in hot food carving to observe the art of knife skills firsthand. The master, wielding a sharp small knife, deftly moved it over a red-heart radish. In no time, a vivid rose appeared before everyone's eyes. The overseas communicators watched in stunned silence, unable to hold back their gasps of admiration. Under the master's guidance, they too picked up small knives and tried their hand at simple carving.
Although their techniques were somewhat unpolished, they all approached the task with great seriousness, striving to create their own works. Robert successfully completed a flower-shaped carving. Excitedly showing off his creation, he said, "This is truly a magical skill. What seems like simple ingredients can be transformed into art in the hands of a master. I experienced the joy of creation today."
In recent years, Jiaojiang District has actively promoted the integration of culture and cuisine. By hosting various food-related events, it has shaped "Hundred Counties, Thousand Bowls • Sea Flavors of Jiaojiang" into a shining city name card. Inviting overseas communicators to visit and experience the Vocational Skills Competition this time not only allowed them to gain an in-depth understanding of Jiaojiang's food culture and traditional skills but also built an international bridge for Jiaojiang's cultural dissemination, fostering exchange and integration between Chinese and foreign cultures.
