Recently, Jin Desheng, who won the gold medal for his extraordinary skill “Mang Dao Jian Ying (Cutting Beef Tendon Blindfolded)” at the China Cuisine Association’s Extraordinary Culinary Skills Exhibition hosted by the Celebrity Chefs Committee—one of the highlights of the 34th China Chefs’ Festival—officially joined the China Cuisine Association’s Extraordinary Culinary Skills Performance Team. He appeared at the 2025 China Taizhou·Snack Food Carnival held in Tiantai County, Taizhou City, from October 31 to November 2.

During the event, Jin Desheng’s “Mang Dao Jian Ying” skill amazed the audience. International guests such as Claudia Alfaro, former director of Operations, Human Church Museum, Quito, Ecuador; Pablo Guayasamin, Strategic Project Coordinator of the Office of the Assistant Director-General for Culture at UNESCO; and Wu Zhong, Senior Advisor for Culture at UNESCO, as well as domestic leaders including Chen Jian, Chairman of the Guangdong Catering Education Committee and Founding Dean of the Culinary College at Shunde Vocational and Technical University, all highly praised this culinary art that blends skill and creativity after witnessing the performance on-site.

It is reported that the carnival was hosted by the China Cuisine Association under the theme “Harmony Between Mountains and Seas, Shared Culinary Prosperity.” As a member of the China Cuisine Association’s Extraordinary Culinary Skills Performance Team, Jin Desheng showcased his remarkable skill at the event, adding technical depth to the Taizhou culinary brand and vividly demonstrating the exceptional craftsmanship of Chinese chefs to the world. His “Blade’s Shadow on Tendon” skill originates from traditional knife techniques and incorporates elements of modern performance art, reflecting the China Cuisine Association’s achievements in exploring and promoting extraordinary culinary skills.

Through various dimensions such as culinary competitions and food experiences, this event contributed to Taizhou’s bid to become a “World City of Gastronomy.” A representative from the China Cuisine Association stated that they will continue to organize outstanding chefs to participate in cultural exchanges both domestically and internationally, using culinary skills as a medium to tell the story of Chinese cuisine.
