2025 Taizhou Specialty Souvenirs Ready to Make Their Debut
Aide Fragrant Braised Small Intestine Rolls, Shen Baoshan Floral Sachets for All Seasons, Song Yun Red Bayberry Series Gift Boxes… On September 15, the Taizhou Consumer Council and the Taizhou Market Supervision Administration jointly held the on-site evaluation session for the 2025 Sixth Taizhou Specialty Souvenirs. Sixty shortlisted products, which stood out from the initial citywide screening, were showcased together, competing for the annual title of "Taizhou Specialty Souvenir."
Since its launch in April, this evaluation activity has garnered an enthusiastic response from enterprises, receiving a total of 111 product submissions. After preliminary screening, 60 high-quality products advanced to the final evaluation. The final selection combines "on-site evaluation" and "online voting" to determine the final 30 products.
During the on-site evaluation session, representatives from county (city, district) consumer councils presented their local products one by one, and the physical product display area attracted considerable attention. A judging panel of over 50 members, including experts in quality management, standardization, food safety, testing, intellectual property, as well as consumer representatives, volunteer rights defenders, and industry and media representatives, conducted on-site tastings and voting.
The evaluation process adhered to the principles of "openness, fairness, and justness," with comprehensive assessment based on six dimensions: regional characteristics, quality standard, safety, cultural connotation, consumer experience, and portability. An online voting channel launched on the same day was opened to the public for five days via the official WeChat accounts of the Taizhou Consumer Council and the Taizhou Market Supervision Administration, widely soliciting public opinion.
The final list will be determined based on the combined results of the on-site and online evaluations and will be officially released to the public. Reporters learned that selected products will also have the opportunity to be recommended for the "Zhejiang Specialty Souvenir" and "Yangtze River Delta Specialty Souvenir" selection campaigns.
The Taizhou Specialty Souvenir evaluation activity is a significant public welfare initiative by the Municipal Consumer Council and Market Supervision Administration to continuously promote quality consumption and unleash consumption potential. It aims to cultivate a group of high-quality consumer goods that embody the "Taizhou Identity," propel "Taizhou Fine Gifts" to gain national and international recognition, meet evolving consumption demands, and enhance the city's image and influence.
Since its inception in 2020, the event has been held for six consecutive years. To date, the city has seen 151 municipal-level, 23 provincial-level, and 2 Yangtze River Delta-level specialty souvenirs emerge, gradually forming a "Taizhou Block" of souvenirs with notable clustering effects and brand influence. The brand clustering effect of regionally distinctive consumer goods has become increasingly evident.
Taizhou Aide Food Co., Ltd., participating for the fourth time, became a familiar "old face" drawing attention at the event. Previously, the company's products like Aide Osmanthus Duck and Aide Osmanthus Beef Shank had successfully made it onto the souvenir list. This year, its Aide Fragrant Braised Small Intestine Rolls are competing once again. The company's legal representative, Jin Desheng, stated, "Through participation in the evaluation, we have achieved a market leap from offline to online, and from local to national, significantly expanding our sales channels."
Wu Weisa, Executive Deputy Director of the Taizhou Consumer Council and Member of the Party Committee of the Municipal Market Supervision Administration, emphasized the need to continue leveraging the souvenir evaluation activity as an opportunity to unite multiple forces, ignite new consumer dynamics through a trustworthy consumption environment and high-quality products, adhere to quality as the foundation to cultivate representative Taizhou premium products, intensify promotional efforts to tell the story of Taizhou brands well, and enhance the recognition and influence of local consumer goods.
